Eric and Mairead love Christmas time and really made the most of the season by choosing to get married in early December, kicking off the season super early. They then honeymooned and were back home in time to enjoy Christmas day with their family. What a month!
Eric and his family got ready in one of the amazing course side lodges at Fota Island Resort. I had never been in them before. They are seriously impressive, and with kids in Erics family it made great sense, they were delighted. Meanwhile Mairead and her crew were preparing in the stunning bridal suite at the Fota Island Resort hotel.
The ceremony was in the dramatic setting of Cobh Cathedral, which was decorated appropriately for the winter season with branches, pine cones and candles. Lovely. Afterwards we made a brief stop at the band stand for a quick few photos before the frostbite set in! Imagine was on at Fota, and we were able to check it out. It really was impressive, we all wished we had more time to soak up the magic, but we had a party to get to! It was lovely to come back into the welcoming warmth of the hotel where there were glasses of mulled wine and christmas cake awaiting.
