Irish girl Caroline and South African boy Russell were married early this year in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. I have photographed lots of weddings in Kenmare over the years but this was my first time at Dromquinna Manor. Wow! What a beautiful venue, and what a brave couple, who had actually booked the Manor for their wedding while it was still being renovated! The day started off on a great note because the wedding party and most of their guests had rented lodges at the Kenmare Bay, it all added to the excitement. It was just a short spin to The Holy Cross church where Caroline and Russ were married. As you scroll down through the photos you will see one of the signing of the register, see the beautiful pen? This is the same pen that both Ross’ parents and grandparents used to sign their wedding papers. After all their guests congratulated them we headed for Dromquinna Manor and straight down to the waters edge to do some photos. Months later I can still remember the cold, luckily it seemed the newlyweds couldn’t feel it! I was delighted because what a beautiful setting for out door photographs. Then it was inside to the fabulous comfort and warmth of the manor house where guests sat in front of roaring fires while enjoying the beautiful views and some South African snacks. Caroline and Russell mingled and chatted with their guests before being called into the beautiful wood panelled dining room for the evening. Oh, check out their amazing desert table from the very talented Cloudberry Bakery. This couple were not afraid to take a chance; a wedding in February in Ireland in a venue that wasn’t even ready when they booked. It all paid off. It really couldn’t have been a more perfect day. Thank you so much Caroline and Russell for letting me be part of it, and for sharing you photos here.
