Maybe it’s because this Winter seems to be dragging on forever, but looking back at Ruth and Stephens warm, Summer, Ballinacurra wedding has me longing for Summer again. It was the 16th of June, which is almost always a fab day. I know, because its my birthday! And I was so delighted to be spending it photographing this fantastic occasion.
I actually met Ruth through her daughter Katie! When Katie was a toddler the preschool she attended organized for me to come and take a portrait of each of the children. Apparently I managed to take a great photo of the baby Katie, so now I am the photographer of choice! Katie is certainly not a toddler any more, she had great fun all day, and even helped me out with some of the group shots!
The morning of the wedding Ruth got ready at home. I think you can tell by the shots, the atmosphere was one of fun and excitement. Everyone was ready good and early, so there was even time for a glass of Champage outside in the sunshine. It was a quick trip down the road to the church where the lovely Stephen awaited.
We headed for Ballinacurra House for the wedding reception. It is an incredibly beautiful setting. With the sun beaming down on us we took a quick trip down the garden while guests arrived and checked in. The huge sweeping lawn leads down to a beautiful bit of forestry before getting to the waters edge. We found a swing as we wandered! Perfect!
The afternoon was spent outside, with everyone enjoying the warmth, and happieness. The adults enjoying a few drinks. The kids playing in the tree house and seasaw. The perfect Summers day!
